Nitrogen OS Rom Review

Review: 

It has been 2 days since I am using Nitrogen OS as my daily driver custom rom which is based on android 8.1 (oreo). I am using custom kernel so the performance and battery backup might be different compared to stock kernel.

I was using revolt kernel ever since I flashed the rom on my device but after 1 day of usage I changed it to franco kernel

 Performance:
 So far the performance is great. There is no UI lag and the animations are fluid with no lag. Gaming performance is great. I don't trust the benchmark scores so I will skip that and continue with battery backup.

Battery Backup:
As franco kernel is already providing legendary battery backup I didn't found any issues in the deep-sleep and all that so far the battery life is amazing and you can expect 7-9 hours of SOT easily.

Customization: 
This rom has good amount of customization options and since it is unofficial the theming support is far more better than the official one. You get the choice to choose between desired accent colour and you also get a bonus that is the AEX Rom theme pre included. So if you need a rom that provides decent and good amount of customization then Nitrogen OS is the best bet.

Conclusion:
I have tested both the variants of the rom that is official and unofficial and according to me the unofficial feels great both in terms of stability and customization. So if you need a stable oreo rom for your Redmi Note 4/4X (Mido) then definitely settle with the unofficial build of Nitrogen OS.
